CASE STUDY

The typical application for slurry pumps is mineral processing (wet processes). It is the following: grinding and classification, separation, sedimentation and filtration.

Grinding and classification is a tough application for pumps, solid size range and slurry flow varies large, typical one is mill discharge pump.

Separation process which widely use slurry pumps is flotation and magnetic separation types. Flotation application needs to transport fluctuating flows of frothy slurry, typical pump type is froth pump. For magnetic separation pump system, feed is essential, flow and dilution varies. Hydro cyclone also used in these two types, pumps typical use is cyclone feed pump.

Feature of the conventional Sedimentation process is that a diluted input with a large flow and thick output with less flow, typical one is thickener underflow pump.

Compressed air filtration is a severe duty application for feed pumps with fluctuating flow and pressure, typical one is filter feed pump.
